Totaled. Holes in the convertible top, holes and minor blood on the interior. Holes all down the side of the car. I’ve had to patch a few holes here and there. Damage like this and the insurance will kill it.

It’s was a brand new 16 citadel with only a few thousand miles on it that came into the shop with heavy front end collision damage. The motor and tranny were pulled for body repairs. As they started to lower the SUV back down it began to teeter on the back arms of the lift til it hit the point of no return and the ass end won...

That one with tha stop leak in the heater core, yeah I’m pretty sure that’s why the heat in my car doesn’t work too well.

That dude with the rx3 D: dude is lucky he has all his toes. this is why you can’t cheap out and also why flywheels need upgraded. damn.

That brake rotor... how does that even happen?

I feel like a hypocrite, poking fun at that one. Because I too have some stop-leak in my truck right now...

My heat works great, though. I flushed the cooling system really well and when I couldn’t locate the very slow leak, I added one -JUST ONE- treatment of K-Seal (the little 8oz jug, not the head gasket stuff).

Weird, huh? You’d think that it’d be worn down a lot more before the vanes ever had a chance to rust out... Maybe the caliper wasn’t pinching it hard enough. Scary thought, especially with this being a front wheel!

Ive seen the rotor surface rust and scale off too, which I would have expected.

This is almost exactly how my outback looked a couple of weeks ago. Used a small brush to kick the snow out, no more vibration issues.

mine squeaked.

I used to hate lifting certain brands of pickups because some didn’t have a real clearly defined spot to put the rear lift arms. I think it was the ‘80-97 Ford pickups; you were supposed to set the rear arms onto the leaf springs just behind the front mounting eye. they’d always shift a little bit as the axle lowered, causing a fairly good pucker moment.

that first one... I can vaguely remember having cars come in with overflowing ashtrays, but none like that. the worst was this guy who was one of the sons of a local well-to-do family; he was the fuck-up of the bunch. we hated working on his car because he never cleaned it out, and it was always full of shit like fast food wrappers with bits of decaying (fast) food on them. in the summer, the smell was (put charitably) off-putting. I mean, my truck is dirty as shit right now, but it’s all salt and grit on the floor because it’s winter here, and I’ll clean the hell out of the thing after the last snow of the season.

the weirdest was when I was working for Alpine; I was one of the guys who built demo vehicles when we were bidding on business at e.g. Chrysler and Honda. I did a “government job” for one of the managers, putting some of their newest aftermarket A/V stuff in it (company car, was used for customer stuff too.) I peeled back the carpet after pulling out the seats and found a huge pile of dead ladybugs. Only they weren’t true ladybugs, they were those pain-in-the-ass Asian Lady Beetles we had overrunning southern Michigan back then.
